  5. Thank you for the link to the lovely post on the food scene in Indianapolis... a wonderful and often overlooked city in many ways. I grew up 10 minutes from the center of the city... eating fruit from our small orchard and picking vegetables in the garden an hour before dinner. My great grandmother raised chickens. I grew up thinking everyone ate fried pork tenderloin sandwiches and corn on the cob all summer long... For many "Hoosiers" eating healthy and eating local has always been a way of life.
